Assingment 10: Death toll in Mexico's drug war surges

I read the article and I looked up information about EDUARDO MEDINA MORA!! Eduardo Medina Mora works with the Mexican President (FELIPE CALDERON). He isn't just a general but he is also an attorney. Eduardo has only worked with the Mexican President since 2006. Once for a certain period of time he worked as THE HEAD OF THE cisen THE MEXICAN EQUIVALENT THE cia. Not long before in the years 2005-2006 he worked as a SECRETARY OF PUBLIC SAFETY.

Assingment 9: Human Trafficking!!!

This article is about the North Sumatra Police that had suspected of three women for allegedly selling young workers to Malaysian procurers. The police did detained these three ladys. The police department is loocking more into itbut they do know that the human trafficking that they are/where doing was a world round kind of thing. The suspects usually GOT girls and women between 10 and 20 years old, and offered them jobs that paid Rp 4.7 million (US$420) a month to work in salons in Malaysia.

Assingment 8: Hitlers Rise to the power

One of the things that I found interesting but weiord was the way the the German Army salute to him. The had to show honor, respect, and loyalty thats why they had to salute to Hitler. If one of them didn't do so they would get killed.


Another thing that got my attention was a poster that said "Ashtung Juden" and it meant ATTENTION JEWS!!

Assingment 7: Questions Chs. 6-9

Ch.6
1-What happened to anyone who did not keep the march?
If you did not keep the march you were shot.
2-How did Zalman die?
Zalman had a stomach cramp and had to stop marching and because of that they shot him.
3-What horrible realization did Elie come to concerning Rabbi Eliahou and his son?How did Ellie respond to this?
Rabbi Eliahou had a peace of the bread that the Germans were throwing and his son attacked him because he was verry hungry and killed his own father. Afterwards his son was killed by the Jews because they wanted the peace of bread. Elie didn't want that to happen to him and his father.
4-What was Juliek's last act?
Juliek's last act was playing the violin.
5-How did Elie help his father when the selection was made?
Elie helped his father by causing the confusion as he ran after him when he was sent to the left.


Ch.7
1-How did Elie help his dad when he was on the train?
Elie helped his dad by slaping him to wake up when the Germans were throwing the dead bodies.
2-Describe the scene Elie witnessed between a father and a son on the train!
Elie remembers the lady that was throwing money to the poor people and was causing them to fight.
3-How many got out of the wagon? Where had they arrived?
Twelve got out of the wagon and they arrived at (BUCHENWALD).


Ch.8
1-Explain how father/son roles had been reversed in the case of Elie and his father?
His father didn't have to take care of him Elie had to take care of his father when he was sick.
2-Why was Elie's father being beaten?
Elie's father was being beaten because he wasn't sble to drag himself outside anymore to relieve and they beat him so they could take away his bread.
3-What did Elie think of the advice given to him by the head of the block?
Elie thought that the head of the block was right.


Ch.9
1- What happened on April 5th?
On April 5th the wheel of history turned and the Jews were freed.
2- What was the resistance movement? What did they do?
The resistance movemnt was when all fought against the Nazi's.
3-What did the prisioners do when they were freed?
The prisioners didin't do revenge on any.
4-Who did Elie see in the mirror on the last page of the book? What did that mean?
Elie saw himself and tought of him nrver forgeting.

Assihnment6: CH.4

1-What were the objectives of the medical examinations?
The medical examinations where that they needed to be in good health and afterwards the dentist would check their mouth for any gold teeth.
2-Why were the Jewish musicians not allowed to play Beethoven?
Jewish musicians were not allowed to play BEETHOVEN because it was German.
3-Describe one if Idek's bouts of madness.
When Idek gets mad he attacked everyone who got in his way.
4-How did Elie initially avoid losing his gold crown?
Ellie would say that he was sick so they wouldnt take his gold crown off.
5-Who did Elie meet on the Paris metro.
Ellie met the french lady that he had met in the consentration camp on the Paris Metro.
6-What happened to Ellie when he refused to give his crown to Franek? What was the end result?
Franek beat up Ellis father because Ellie didn't want to give him the crown.The end result was that Ellie gave him his crown for nothing.
7-Describe the scene at the soup cauldrons.
At the soup cauldrons the jews were put in a room filled with hot soup. Then a man drinks from it while there wasn't any one there then he died when they started bombing.
8-During the preliminary ceremonies before hanging, what did Juliek tell whisper to Elie? What does this suggest?
9-During one hanging, Elie and the other prisoners cried. What made this hanging different from the others? The two men that they hanged did not die right away.

Assignment6: CH. 5

1-Why didn't Elie fast on Yom Kippur?
Elie didn't fast on Yom Kippur bacause he was asking his father permission.
2-What advice was given to Elie to pass the selection?
The advise that was given to Ellie was that he was told to run fast that way they wouldn't be able to catch his number.
3-How did Elie's father respond when he had learned that his name had been written down?
4-What did Akiba Drumer ask others to do for him? Did they do it?
Akiba asked other for them to thimk about him, but no one would listen to him.
5-Why was Elie placed in the hospital?
Ellie was placed in the hospital because he was going to get an operation.
6-Why was the camp evacuated? What did Elie learn of the fate of those who stayed behind in the hospital?
The camp was evacuated because the Russians were on their way there. Ellie learned that the camp was leberated two days after they evacuated it.

- Ellie lied about hisage and occupation because he was scared.
2. What was the first horrifying sight that Elie at first disbelieved?
- The first horrifying sight that Elie first saw was the truck dumping the babies bodies so that they could get burned.
3. Explain what Elie meant when he said, "Never shall I forget these flames which consumed my faith forever."
- Ellie meant that he didn't have faith anymore.
4. How did Elie change in a short time?
- Elie changed, now hefelt angered.And he started questioning God like why should he thank him for.
5. What was Elie's first impression of Auschwitz after leaving Birkenau?
- Ellies first impression of Auschitz aftwer leavind Birkenau was that he felt they treated him better.
6. What was the "compulsory formality" at the entrance to all camps?
- At the consentration camps the "compulsory formality" was that they would get showered with HOTT water.
7. What sort of identification was used on the prisoners?
- They used numbers on the left arm for the prisioners it was like a tatoo.
8. Why was the prisoner in charge of Elie's block removed from his position?
- The person in charfge of Elie's block was moved from hes position beacause the Germans said that he was being too nice.
9. What were the prisoners' rations at each meal?
- The prisioners rations were that in the morningsthey had black coffee, midday soup, and at six they had bread with margarine.

Assignment #4 Chapter 2: pg.21-26

Explain, "our eyes were opened, but too late." Where was the train at this point?
-The author meant that they were finally up but not at the right time. At that point the train was at Hungary. .
What was foreshadowed by Madame Schacter's nightmare?
-It was a horrible welcome because of the fire shooting out the chimney in Birkenau, Auschwitz.
What did some of the passengers do to quiet Madame Schacter?
-First, they pitied her and tried to support her. But at the end they lost patience and the men struck sometimes mortally.

Assignment #1


The holocaust led to death of about more than 6 million Jews. First, the Germans had more than 9 million Jews until they started to kill two out of three Jews. Germans didn’t just kill Jews though they also killed more then 200,000 Gypsies and 200,000 disabled people. All of this started in the year 1933. There was a couple of survivors from THE HOLOCAUST and one of them even wrote a book to inform and entertain people about his horrifying story/life.

Assignment #2

Adam Posner was a Jewish lawyer that got stuck in an elavator. When Adam was stuck in that elavator he was thinking on the Holocaust. Adam was afraid of the dark. This author writes about his experinces on what happened in the Holacoust. He is one of the verry few survivors there was and writes his story to inform and entretain others

1-Who is Moishe/Moche the Beadle, describe him.
Moishe the Beadle had lots of nicknames. He was a verry poor man that lived in Uttery Penury. He was a man of ALL work
2-Why did Eliezer cry when he prayed?
Elizer didi not know why he cryed when he prayed.
3-When Moishe/Moche returned what did he tell?
When Moishe returned he told about the dead people, and how they killed them.
4-Why didn't people believe him?
Peple did not believe him because they all though he was a crazy man!!
5-List the ways the Jewish people of Sighet lost their rights (List 5).
1- They where not allowed to have anything with high value.
2- They where not allowed to stay out past six.
3- T hey arrested all the leaders of the community.
4- Soilders could not go in their homes.
5- They HAD to wear a yellow star.
6-What is a Ghetto?
The ghetto is a neighborhood where only a class of people live like the verry poor.
7-Why did citizens resist the truth , even when it was in front of them?
All jews didn't believe that Hitler really intented to take over them.
8-Describe the conditions in the train (at the end of the chapter).
In each car there was 80 people. If someone were to escape the person in charge of that car would be killed. The windows had bars on them and in the car all there was were water and bread.
